A current title commitment is required before an ALTA Survey can be completed. The surveyor will refer to the title commitment for the legal description of the property and for the legal description of any encumbrances (exceptions). Areas of ownership, improvements, and encumbrances will be shown graphically. If the survey discovers any encroachments, they should be shown graphically, and a note indicating the nature of the encroachment may also be added. The certification language of the ALTA Survey should include the names of the affected parties, including as appropriate the buyer, seller, title company, and lender. The surveyor must work in close association with the title insurance company, as the surveyor and the title company are relying on each other's work to show the matters affecting the ownership of the land and improvements in a comprehensive manner. An ALTA land survey has especially stringent requirements as developed by a joint effort of the American Land Title Association and the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping. The ALTA standards are a nationwide uniform set of standards. Sometimes referred to as the "Cadillac of surveys". The survey is specifically designed to satisfy the needs of lenders, corporations and title companies when dealing with valuable commercial properties.”

Discharge and Velocity
DIMCO has completed many research projects and programming efforts involving the use of the ADCP and collecting riverline discharge data. All of these projects were accomplished utilizing the ADCP in conjunction with DGPS positioning and a digital fathometer. In the past 5 years, we have provided over 1,200 surveys of river currents for discharge calculations, river stage predictions, and engineering studies on the Mississippi River.
Some of these projects were accomplished on the:
Mississippi River, high sediment load, currents to 14 ft/s, depths to 130 ft
Red River, high sediment load, currents to 14 ft/s, depths to 60 ft
Quachita River, low sediment load, currents to 5 ft/s, depths to 50 ft
Colorado River, high sediment load, currents to 12 ft/s, depths to 40 ft
Columbia River, low sediment load, currents to 10 ft/s, depths to 270 ft
Savannah River, medium sediment load, currents to 5 ft/s, depths to 50 ft
San Bernard River, high sediment load, currents to 14 ft/s, depths to 40 ft
Tombigbee River, low sediment load, currents to 6 ft/s, depths to 40 ft
Illinois River, medium sediment load, currents to 4 ft/s, depths to 25 ft
Ohio River, medium sediment load, currents to 5 ft/s, depths to 40 ft
Yazoo River, high sediment load, currents to 6 ft/s, depths to 50 ft
Missouri River, high sediment load, currents to 12 ft/s, depths to 60 ft
Gulf Intercoastal Waterway, high sed. load, currents to 4 ft/s, depths to 30 ft
Hackensack River, low sediment load, currents to 6 ft/s, depths to 40 ft
Humboldt Bay, low sediment load, currents to 8 ft/s, depths to 50 ft
Tedious Creek, medium sediment load, currents to 6 ft/s, depths to 60 ft
Matagorda Bay, medium sediment load, currents to 10 ft/s, depths to 70 ft
Port Mansfield Jetty, med. sediment load, currents to 12 ft/s, depths to 50 ft
Upper MS River Pool 8, low sediment load, currents to 6 ft/s, depths to 40 ft
Upper MS River Pool 13, low sediment load, currents to 7 ft/s, depths to 50 ft
